Version 0.5 – Introducing Normal Map Support & Enhanced Visual Control
We’re back with a major feature update to Noise Generator 2000, and this one’s all about giving you even more visual versatility and control over your textures. Whether you’re generating noise for stylized materials, procedural masks, or experimental shader work—this update opens the door to exciting new use cases.
🌟New Feature:
Normal Noise Map Output
You can now switch between the standard noise gradient and a fully functional normal map version of your texture—all one click away!
✅ New Options Include:
- Normal Map Toggle – Instantly switch your noise texture to normal map view.
- Normal Strength Control – Adjust the intensity of the normals with precision using a dedicated slider.
- Adjustment Fixes– Improved the adjustments piepline for better results.
This opens up powerful new workflows—like applying normal-mapped Voronoi particles, or layering inverted normals with contrast tweaks for unique color-based patterns and stylized surface looks.
Feature Recap – Everything Noise Generator 2000 Already Offers
Noise Types Available:
- Simple – A clean, optimized variation of Simplex noise.
- Gradient – Smooth interpolated noise, improved over classic Perlin.
- Voronoi – The ever-iconic cell structure pattern.
Export Options:
- Save your textures as PNG, JPG, EXR, or TGA.
- Customize the filename and file path with ease.
Parameters You Can Tweak:
- Resolution – Control the output texture size.
- Tiling, Offset, Scale, Rotation – For procedural precision.
- Voronoi Angle – Adds angular variation to Voronoi patterns.
- Contrast, Multiply, Subtract – Stylize your results right inside the tool.
User Interface Features:
- Realtime Preview – See your changes in real-time.
- Easy navigation - Always one click away.
- Slidable Input Fields – Adjust values smoothly without typing.
- Fully Portable – No install required; runs from USB.
🧪 Use Case Highlight: Stylized Shader Effects
With this update, it’s now possible to generate normal-mapped Voronoi particles, or create surreal stylized effects by combining inverted normals with value-based blending techniques. Perfect for experimenting with 2D lighting, post-processing effects, or even creating hand-drawn-style textures.
🔄 What's Next?
We’re already exploring the possible next wave of features, like extra kinds of procedural generators, If you have feedback or requests, let me know—your input helps shape the future of Noise Generator 2000.
Thanks for supporting this kind of insane tool, and happy noise-making!
