v0.014 - One step at the time


Hi and welcome back to another Tameme dev Vlog!   

I've been hard at work since last week, and results are promising,  the rounds system is already working but still needs polishing that's why you're still not going to enjoy it in this update. the city counter is related to the rounds system and, it's still not implemented as well.

I've worked in a precarious movement system that allows you to move and jump with physics, may come in handy for certain minigames and is something we already have out of the way if needed later for moving  (You can experiment with it in the windows version). We can use it to create several different minigames as flappy tamie, Jumpy jumper minigame thing, or even a move and collect while avoiding bombs  Whatever you think of can be added. 

By now  the focus is to create a decent game loop experience with the basic systems mentioned above, were  levels may be beaten to get money prizes to buy things for your creature, or fufill his dreams ampyfying his home.
A little bit more in depth Im actually focusing in the level design and starting to shape down  the sound design for the game and the different moods it shoud induce you to in each game state. 

It's great to share with you guys the progress and the learnings that im acomplishing whle creating this.

Features

  • Into the hundreds! now Sleepynes, Happiness, Health, and Hunger have a max value of 100. and drive up or down 5 points depending on the different stat connections.  something that allows for a better and smoother downing curve of the tame. No more Sudden Deaths!

  • Let this tame be truly yours. Added the possibility to put a name in your tame. (In this early access allowing you to change the name for Free instead of costing 1000 coins)

 


  • Added Shopping feature, that allows you to buy food and arrows, need to be mindful into which one of those you invest in at the beginning and how you use it, each arrow hit on an enemy sums 10 coins into your account which can be used to buy food and arrows, Working into adding new stuff

 

  • Now arrows face their direction of movement, and while affected by gravity updated correctly.

 

And that sums up the features for now.

BugFixes 

  • While sleeping you could still pet your creature now disabled for a harder experience. 
  • When coming back from combat the sleep value decreased dramatically and didn't allow for recovery to the Tamee 
  • Now when trying to play and being sleepy, you will be required to rest in order to play again.
  • Fixed several Tamee phrases misfunction.
  • Now when clicking the delete save button all the data will be deleted and the scene will be reset. To restart a game
  • Now daytime starts correctly at 6 AM instead of 7 AM
  • Improved the expression system for a better showcase of his emotions
  • Now enemies instead of dealing 2 damage, deal 9. so they're capable of sending you back home. in a kick.
  • The collision system has been improved and no arrows trespass the ground.
  • Improved the Windows movement system to work with Force Physics instead of moving by value, and allowed jumping
  • Now whenever you close the game the data will be automatically Saved
  • Several minor extra bugfixes
And that sums up the most important of the entire changelog
